Burlington, Mass. - Nerdworld today announced two new features to its Assembly Web Discussion service. Now available are a Custom Assembly, an enhanced version of the free Assembly Web Discussion service, and the Email Informer, an opt-in feature which allows users to receive the latest posts via email. Nerdworld launched Assembly Web Discussions in February 1997.
The new Custom Assembly includes a host of improvements on the basic free Assembly. A Custom Assembly can maintain 1,000 messages up to 10k each, and administrators may opt to moderate so that they can preview each message before it is posted to the web. The administrator may rotate his own banner advertising throughout a Custom Assembly as well as change the background color, navigation buttons and title and footer graphics. The Custom Assembly costs $180 a year, and with so many options to customize, the Custom Assembly is a great way for a business to encourage customer feedback.
The Email Informer is available as a feature within both the free and the custom versions. Users who enlist the new Email Informer can have daily or weekly email updates sent either individually or in digest format. "As Assembly has grown to over 3,000 discussions, it has become clear to us that we must provide a method for our users to keep up to date on the discussions that interest them the most." said David Stein, president of Nerdworld, "The Email Informer provides a timely method to deliver the topics of most interest to our users."
Assembly makes the administrator’s job easy. In a matter of minutes, anyone can create a free web discussion by following the simple instructions on the Assembly site. Settings are easy to change and posts can be edited and rearranged immediately.
Assembly encourages new users to join in the discussions and compels them to return. Anyone is free to post a message; no registration is required. Since all the web discussions are hosted by Nerdworld, the Assembly service is available for free to anyone with Internet access.
Users can navigate this rapidly growing web community by conducting a key word search or by browsing the directory. Posts within Assembly discussions can be sorted by topic, author, date or subject. This allows users to refer to messages over weeks or months, often facilitating more constructive, meaningful discussions.
