Welcome to Nerdworld 2.0. Our staff has spent the summer updating the site to create a true resource for Nerds to go and learn about Nerd culture and lifestyles.

Nerdworld has been divided up into 3 main sections: Nerd Life, Nerd Store, and the Nerd Wide Web

Nerd Life - where a Nerd can be a Nerd! Check out our Nerd of the Week and Nerdly Ways and Means Features. There are also sections for regional nerd activity in the Valley, Alley, or Boston. Be sure to read up on your Nerd Advice through Ask the Nerd, and don't forget to read the job offer that Nerdworld has extended to President Clinton.

Nerd Store - Need to stock up on those Nerd T-shirts, or just need to add to your software collection? Its all right here.

Nerd Wide Web - the classic Nerdworld directory and search engine has been retooled. Two new features have been added. The first, Nerdworld Nifty Fifty, is 50 of the hottest sites on the web. The second is the Bizarre Site of the Week. Ever wonder what your favorite web site would look like if Jesus was your editor? Check it out here. Our directory is still growing every day and you can help by rating the search results. Type in any search term. When you go to the site, there will be a banner that will allow you to judge the Nerdliness of that site.

What was that pop up box that showed up?
No it's not an ad, but the Nerdworld Question of the week. If you accidently closed it, just reopen this email and the question will reappear.

Nerd of the week:
This weeks Nerd of the week is one of the original creators of Visicalc - Bob Frankston. It took a lot of pressure and conniving, but we were finally able to wrestle an interview out of Bob Frankston, Nerd d'Extraordinaire and self-proclaimed old codger. Best known for his work in the development of the original computer spreadsheet, Bob's nerdliness continues to evolve. Bob's profile is peppered with evidence of his "contrarian tendencies": "I can easily get too philosophical and confuse the naïve and annoy the knowledgeable. Or I can rant and rave about the annoyance du jour, such as my current anger at eyeballpluckers…" Following is the not-ready-for-prime-time revelations of this most recent Nerd of the Week.

This week, from the Nerd of the Week nominations, we bring you Nerd Fashion Tips.

These people really do exist, but their identities have been masked to protect the innocent.

Matt W. from Alfred University actually wears "taped glasses, high pants, and socks with sandals." Maybe that's why USNews has ranked Alfred on the top of their best value for education list!

Allen H. 's girlfriend from AZ says he should get the "nerd of the Earth award...for wearing no shoes to work and having painted nail polish on his toes" She's probably just upset that he won't let her borrow his red nailpolish!

Not only does Ian B. wear a pocket protector, but he even has a spare

Andy W.'s roomate confirms that Andy " has a batman belt with nerd computer tools". Apparently, this it quite a chick magnet at his university.

Drop us an email and let us know what you think of the new site.

Be sure to tune in next week when we focus on the Nerdly Workplace
