So how is your holiday season going? The Nerds travelled all over for the holiday - Orlando, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. We're still stuffed with turkey and mourning for our beloved Patriots who were humiliated on national TV. At least we have the Celtics (Pitino lame duck?)...err I mean Bruins(we miss #77)....err I mean Red Sox(Mussina, nah let the Yanks have him)... err I mean at least we have a PS2!!!! As you can tell, its been a sad time for Boston sports fans...but I digress...maybe Manny will bring us a Ring!

This Abandonware petition came across our desk and seems a good idea. Check it out, hopefully it is not some scam to get your email address for spam. It seems legit to us.

Presidential Politics
President Clinton Responds!! If you recall, Nerdworld sent an offer to President Clinton to become President of Nerdworld when he finishes his term. The letter we sent as well as the response received are posted on the web site. Be sure to check out the return address on the envelope (maybe we'll change ours to Nerworld at Nerdworld, Burlington, MA) and the autographed picture of our fearless leader. Is that a digital watch I see on his wrist? What a NERD!

Space...The Final Fronteer...Until it falls back to Earth
Is that an asteroid falling? Nope, its just one of the Iridium satelites crashing to earth. As many of you may recall, the Iridium network consists of satelites orbiting the earth to create a Global Cell Phone network. Iridium was doomed from the start. The phones where extremely bulky (reminiscent of the cell phones that you see in bad 70s shows and movies), they could not be used indoors, and cost about the same as a Yugo. This article from Space.com talks about the reentry of one of their satelites.

Holiday Shopping Ideas
Holiday Shopping getting you down? Try walking around a mall parking lot to relieve stress. You will soon notice a car following you in anticipation of obtaining your parking spot. After the car has followed you for a bit, dart into the next isle. The look of anger on that drivers face will give you a much needed lift. Or Shop on line.
